Jeff Bezos

On January 12, 1964, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jeff Bezos was born into a family that later settled in Houston and Miami as his ambitions widened. He studied at Princeton University and built a fast-rising Wall Street career before leaving finance to start an internet bookseller during the early web era. That move from D. E. Shaw to Seattle in 1994 placed him at the start of a commercial transformation.

Bezos founded Amazon in 1994, expanded it far beyond books, and turned warehousing, data, and scale into the foundation of a new retail empire.
